DSSSB Exam Center Security and Guidelines – Dress Code & Prohibited Items 2026

The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) has issued comprehensive guidelines for candidates appearing in computer-based online examinations for various post codes in 2026. The instructions emphasize strict adherence to reporting times, dress code, and restrictions on prohibited items to ensure fair conduct.

Entry to the examination center requires presentation of the e-admit card and an original photo ID proof. Reporting time and exam duration are specified on the e-admit card. Late arrivals will not be permitted under any circumstances. Candidates must sign and provide a thumb impression on the photo attendance sheet; failure to do so will be at their own risk. Leaving the center before the exam concludes is prohibited.

The computer-based test features questions in Hindi and English (except language-specific sections). Negative marking applies, with 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer. Issuance of an e-admit card or appearance in the exam does not guarantee eligibility, as document verification occurs later.

Prohibited Items: Security checks, including metal detectors, will be conducted. The following items are strictly banned inside the exam center:

  • Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earphones, microphones
  • Calculators, pen drives, scanners, or electronic pens
  • Watches, cameras, metallic objects
  • Wallets, bags, belts, goggles
  • Jewelry (rings, chains, pendants, etc.)
  • Food items or water bottles

No storage facility is available at exam centers.

Dress Code: Candidates should wear light-colored, half-sleeve clothing without large buttons or badges. Slippers or low-heel sandals are recommended; closed shoes are not allowed.

Special provisions apply for differently-abled candidates per ministry guidelines. Those wearing religious items like kara or kirpan must arrive at least one hour before reporting time for security checks, in line with High Court orders.

Possession of any prohibited item will be treated as unfair means, leading to action under rules. The board reserves the right to cancel candidature at any stage.

Candidates are advised to download their e-admit card from the official website well in advance, read all instructions carefully, and reach the center early to avoid issues.
