Jamia Millia Islamia Opens Admissions for 2026–27 Session

Jamia Millia Islamia has officially released its admission prospectus for the academic session 2026–27, announcing a major academic expansion with 30 new academic programs across undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, certificate, and advanced diploma levels.

University officials confirmed that no fee increase has been implemented for any program this year, a move expected to attract a larger number of applicants nationwide and internationally.

Online applications are now open, and candidates can apply until March 25, 2026 for courses requiring entrance examinations.

Entrance Exams to Be Held in More Cities

To improve accessibility for applicants, Jamia has added three new entrance exam centers this year:

  • Jaipur

  • Dehradun

  • Kishanganj

With these additions, the total number of exam cities has increased to 11. Existing centers include:

  • Delhi

  • Lucknow

  • Guwahati

  • Patna

  • Kolkata

  • Srinagar

  • Kozhikode

  • Bhopal

Officials say expanding test locations will reduce travel burdens and help candidates from diverse regions participate more easily.

  • BA (Hons) Japanese Studies — Self-Financed

  • BA (Hons) German Studies — Self-Financed

  • BA (Hons) Human Resource Management — Self-Financed

  • LLM Corporate Law — Regular Self-Financed

  • BE Civil Engineering (Evening) — Self-Financed

  • MA Social Work

  • MSc Botany

University authorities confirmed that all 30 programs are newly introduced for 2026–27 and designed to align with global academic trends and emerging job markets.


Admission Categories Explained

Jamia has simplified the application process by dividing admissions into four major categories:

  1. Programs requiring JMI entrance exams

  2. Programs based on national test scores (JEE Main, NATA, NEET, CUET, NCET, etc.)

  3. Merit-based admissions

  4. Multiple-entry mode programs

  • Entrance test courses: Apply by March 25, 2026

  • National test–based courses: Forms open from Feb 20 until 10 days after result declaration

  • Multiple-entry programs: Apply between Feb 20 and April 10 (subject to seat availability)
