NEW DELHI, India — June 1, 2026

Commercial LPG Cylinder Price Hike Raises Costs for Businesses From June 1

Commercial LPG Cylinder Price Hike has come into effect across India from June 1, 2026, increasing fuel costs for hotels, restaurants, eateries, and other commercial establishments. Oil marketing companies have revised the prices of 19-kilogram commercial LPG cylinders upward, while leaving domestic cooking gas cylinder rates unchanged, offering relief to millions of households.

The latest revision, effective from Sunday, June 1, is expected to increase operating expenses for businesses that rely heavily on commercial LPG for daily operations.

19kg Commercial LPG Cylinder Becomes More Expensive

According to the revised rates announced by oil marketing companies, the price of a 19kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has been increased by ₹42. Following the hike, the cylinder will now cost ₹3,113.50.

In Kolkata, the increase is even steeper. The price of the same commercial cylinder has been raised by ₹53.50, taking the retail rate to ₹3,255.50.

The revised pricing comes amid fluctuating energy costs and changing market conditions, factors that often influence LPG price adjustments in the commercial segment.

5kg Free Trade LPG Cylinder Also Sees Price Increase

In addition to the commercial LPG revision, oil companies have also increased the price of the 5kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinder by ₹11.

Following the latest revision, the 5kg FTL cylinder in Delhi will now be available at ₹821.50.

Free Trade LPG cylinders are commonly used by small businesses, food vendors, catering services, and other commercial users requiring portable fuel solutions.

No Change in Domestic LPG Cylinder Prices

While commercial users will face higher fuel expenses, domestic consumers have received some relief. Oil marketing companies have not announced any changes to the price of the 14.2kg domestic LPG cylinder.

The decision means household cooking gas rates remain unchanged despite the increase in commercial cylinder prices.

For millions of Indian families, the unchanged domestic LPG rates will help prevent an immediate rise in household cooking expenses.

Impact on Hotels, Restaurants, and Food Businesses

Commercial LPG cylinders are widely used in hotels, restaurants, dhabas, bakeries, catering services, and institutional kitchens across the country.

Industry observers believe the latest increase could add pressure to operating margins, particularly for small and medium-sized food businesses already dealing with rising input costs.

If higher fuel costs continue over an extended period, some establishments may eventually pass a portion of the increased expenses on to customers through menu price revisions. However, the extent of any impact will depend on market competition, local demand, and future energy price trends.

Businesses Monitor Fuel Costs Closely

The hospitality and food service sectors are expected to closely monitor future LPG price movements, as fuel remains a significant component of operational expenditure.

Experts note that stable domestic LPG prices provide relief for households, but commercial users may need to reassess cost structures if commercial fuel rates continue to rise in the coming months.

The revised commercial LPG cylinder prices are effective nationwide from June 1, 2026.
