The much-anticipated war drama ‘Border 2’ continues its strong theatrical run as cinemas across India expand show timings to meet surging audience demand. Following an impressive opening at the box office, theaters have now introduced midnight and early morning screenings, signaling sustained public interest in the film.
Released during the Republic Day extended weekend, Border 2 has benefited from holiday footfalls and positive word of mouth. According to industry reports, multiple cinema chains have responded by adding late-night and early-morning slots, particularly in metro cities where demand remains high even during unconventional hours.
Midnight Shows Added in Major Cities
As per Bollywood Hungama, MovieMax has introduced new screenings between 1:20 AM and 3:00 AM, a move driven by packed houses during peak hours. The trend is especially visible in metropolitan regions, where late-night movie screenings are increasingly popular among urban audiences.
In Mumbai, PVR Sangam in Andheri East has added a 1:55 AM show, while a cinema in Bhayandar has scheduled an early 7:00 AM screening. Several other multiplex chains and independent theaters are also expanding their schedules, increasing overall slot availability.
Strong Box Office Performance
The growing number of shows reflects Border 2’s strong commercial momentum. According to Sacnilk, the film earned approximately ₹30 crore on its opening day, surpassing the first-day record of Dhurandhar. On Day 2, the film added another ₹21.08 crore, bringing it closer to the ₹100 crore milestone within its opening week.
Industry analysts suggest that with continued demand over the Republic Day holiday, additional late-night shows could be added in the coming days.
Film Based on the 1971 India-Pakistan War
Border 2 is inspired by the 1971 India-Pakistan war and depicts India’s strategic response to Pakistan’s Operation Chengiz Khan. The film blends large-scale war sequences with emotional storytelling rooted in patriotism.
The ensemble cast includes Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Mona Singh, Medha Rana, Sonam Bajwa, and Anya Singh. The film is directed by Anurag Singh, known for delivering large-canvas patriotic dramas.
With strong audience reception and expanding theatrical presence, Border 2 is emerging as one of the biggest Hindi film releases of the year.
