Obsession Box Office Collection remained one of the biggest talking points at the Indian box office on Wednesday, as the Hollywood thriller continued to outperform several Bollywood and regional releases. While many Hindi films witnessed a noticeable decline in earnings, South Indian titles such as Karuppu and Drishyam 3 continued to attract audiences and post respectable numbers.
The latest box office figures indicate a challenging environment for several recently released Bollywood films. However, Hollywood’s Obsession has maintained its strong theatrical run, demonstrating sustained audience interest across major Indian markets.
Obsession Continues Strong Run in Indian Cinemas
Hollywood thriller Obsession remained the top-performing new release among several competing titles. The film collected approximately ₹2.90 crore on Wednesday, slightly lower than its Tuesday earnings of ₹3 crore.
With six days of theatrical release in India, Obsession has accumulated an estimated ₹15.65 crore at the domestic box office. The film debuted in Indian theaters on May 29 after its international release on May 15 and has benefited from positive audience reception and steady occupancy levels.
Industry observers note that the film’s performance highlights the growing appeal of international content among Indian moviegoers.
The Great Grand Superhero Struggles to Gain Momentum
Family entertainer The Great Grand Superhero continued to face difficulties at the box office. The film earned approximately ₹10 lakh on Wednesday, down from ₹16 lakh collected on Tuesday.
Its six-day cumulative collection now stands at around ₹1.65 crore. Despite expectations that the children’s film would attract family audiences, it has not been able to generate significant traction during its theatrical run.
Chand Mera Dil Sees Further Decline
Romantic drama Chand Mera Dil, starring Lakshya and Ananya Panday, also witnessed a decline in collections during its second week.
The film earned around ₹90 lakh on its second Wednesday after collecting ₹1 crore on Tuesday. Since its release on May 22, the movie has accumulated an estimated ₹27.20 crore at the Indian box office.
While the film enjoyed a decent opening phase, its pace has slowed considerably as newer releases entered theaters.
Pati Patni Aur Woh Do Falls Into Lakhs
The multi-starrer comedy Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, featuring Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh, and Wamiqa Gabbi, has seen its earnings decline sharply in its third week.
The film collected approximately ₹66 lakh on Wednesday compared with ₹1 crore on Tuesday. Its total domestic earnings have now reached ₹49.41 crore.
Although the film remains close to the ₹50 crore milestone, daily collections suggest that its theatrical run is entering its final phase.
Drishyam 3 Crosses Major Milestone
Malayalam thriller Drishyam 3 continues to perform impressively despite experiencing a natural slowdown after a successful second weekend.
The film earned ₹1.25 crore on Wednesday following Tuesday’s ₹1.55 crore collection. Its total box office revenue has now climbed to an estimated ₹101.70 crore.
Crossing the ₹100 crore mark represents a significant achievement for the franchise and reinforces its popularity among audiences across multiple regions.
Karuppu Maintains Strong Presence
South Indian superstar Suriya’s action drama Karuppu remains one of the strongest performers currently in theaters.
The film collected approximately ₹1.77 crore on its third Wednesday after earning ₹2.35 crore on Tuesday. Despite the expected decline after multiple weeks in cinemas, the movie has maintained a solid hold.
After 20 days of release, Karuppu has amassed an impressive ₹188.84 crore at the domestic box office. Released on May 14, the film is now approaching the significant ₹190 crore milestone and remains one of the most successful regional releases of the year.
Box Office Outlook
As the weekend approaches, industry attention will remain focused on whether Obsession can continue its impressive run in India and whether Karuppu can cross the ₹190 crore mark. Meanwhile, Drishyam 3 is expected to add further to its already impressive total, while several Bollywood titles face increasing pressure from competition and audience preferences.
The latest trends suggest that content-driven films and established franchises continue to attract moviegoers, even as competition intensifies across the Indian theatrical market.
