The much-awaited horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla, starring Akshay Kumar, has once again witnessed a change in its theatrical release date. The film will now arrive in cinemas on April 10, moving up from its previously announced release date of May 25.
Fans have been eagerly waiting for the film, directed by Priyadarshan, which marks another collaboration between the filmmaker and Akshay Kumar in the horror-comedy genre.
Akshay Kumar Announces New Release Date
Akshay Kumar revealed the updated release date through a creative video shared on his Instagram account. The video features a black cat with glowing, eerie eyes scratching out the May 15 date on a calendar before shifting attention to the month of April, where the date April 10 is revealed.
Sharing the video, Akshay wrote in the caption that the countdown for Bhooth Bangla has restarted and confirmed that the film will no longer release on May 25, but instead hit theaters on April 10.
Why the Release Date Was Changed Again
Bhooth Bangla was initially scheduled for an April 2 release. The makers later postponed the film to May 25 before deciding to advance it again by nearly a month. While the production team has not officially stated the reason for the latest change, industry observers believe the decision is part of a calculated release strategy.
The shift is reportedly aimed at sustaining audience interest and managing Akshay Kumar’s packed theatrical lineup throughout the year.
Box Office Clash on April 10
The new release date places Bhooth Bangla in direct competition with Dacoit, starring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur. Dacoit was originally slated for a March 19 release but was postponed to April 10 to avoid clashes with other major films.
Star-Studded Cast and Production Details
Apart from Akshay Kumar, Bhooth Bangla features Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, Tabu, and Rajpal Yadav in key roles.
The film is produced by Akshay Kumar along with Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures.
With its revised release date, Bhooth Bangla is now set to kick off the summer box office season with a mix of horror, comedy, and star power.
