Yamaha India Recalls Over 300,000 Scooters for Brake Repair

New Delhi, January 24, 2026

Yamaha Motor India has announced a voluntary recall of more than 300,000 scooters in the country to address a potential front brake performance issue, the company said in a statement on Friday.

The recall affects RAZR 125 FI Hybrid and Fascino 125 FI Hybrid models, with Yamaha confirming that 306,635 units manufactured between May 2, 2024, and September 3, 2025, are covered under the campaign.

🛵 Reason for the Recall

According to Yamaha, the recall has been initiated due to the possibility that, under certain operating conditions, the front brake caliper may function less effectively in some units of the affected scooter models.

The company emphasized that the move is precautionary in nature and aimed at ensuring customer safety and product reliability.

🔧 Free Replacement of Faulty Part

Yamaha Motor India stated that:

  • All affected scooters will have the front brake caliper replaced free of cost

  • The recall campaign is effective immediately

  • Customers will be contacted directly and can also visit authorized Yamaha service centers for inspection and repair

The company assured customers that the replacement process would be carried out efficiently to minimize inconvenience.

🏭 Commitment to Safety and Quality

The recall reflects Yamaha’s commitment to high safety standards and proactive quality control, particularly in India’s highly competitive two-wheeler market.

Industry experts note that voluntary recalls help manufacturers address potential issues early while reinforcing consumer trust.

Customers are advised to check their vehicle details with Yamaha’s authorized dealers to confirm whether their scooter falls under the recall program.
