A new behavioral analysis by Indian lineage-tech platform iMeUsWe reveals that women are now the primary users of digital astrology services in India, highlighting a shift in how younger generations engage with traditional belief systems through technology.
According to the study, women account for 60.3% of total users on digital astrology platforms, suggesting a growing reliance on astrology-based consultations among young female audiences navigating important life choices.
Young Women Leading Digital Astrology Adoption
The research indicates that young women are the most active users, with 63% of female astrology users falling in the 18–30 age group.
Within that demographic, the 25–30 age group represents the largest segment, accounting for 41% of female users on the platform.
This stage of life often coincides with major milestones such as:
Career planning
Relationship decisions
Marriage considerations
The findings suggest that digital astrology is increasingly being used as a structured guidance tool during pivotal life transitions, rather than purely as a traditional belief practice.
Vivek Desai, Co-Founder and Chairman of iMeUsWe, said the shift reflects a changing relationship between younger generations and traditional knowledge systems.
“Young women today are engaging with traditional knowledge systems in more thoughtful ways. Astrology is no longer just about belief; it is becoming a tool for reflection during key life decisions,” Desai said.
He added that when astrology insights are combined with family lineage and heritage data, they can help individuals better understand identity and personal history.
Relationship Questions Drive Most Consultations
The study also identified clear trends in the topics users seek guidance on. Relationship-related concerns dominate astrology consultations among women.
Top Consultation Themes
Marriage timing and compatibility — 42%
Love and relationship issues — 28%
Career and job stability — 14%
Children and pregnancy — 7%
Family or in-law conflicts — 5%
Finance and property matters — 4%
Combined, nearly 70% of consultations by women relate to marriage or relationship decisions, reinforcing astrology’s continued role in personal and family decision-making.
Regional Trends in Astrology Usage
The study also identified strong regional patterns in digital astrology engagement across India.
North India: 35.5% of consultations
West and Central India: 30.1%
Eastern India: 17.7%
South India: 13.9%
Together, North and West/Central India account for more than 65% of all consultations, indicating particularly strong adoption in those regions.
Digital Platforms Reshaping Traditional Practices
Astrology has long been part of India’s cultural landscape, particularly in matters related to marriage and life planning.
However, the iMeUsWe study suggests that the nature of engagement is evolving as younger users increasingly access astrology through digital platforms offering personalized consultations and insights.
As technology expands access to traditional knowledge systems, digital astrology platforms are becoming tools for reflection, planning, and navigating major personal and professional decisions.
