UPSC Expands Call Centre Support for 2026 Exam Applicants

New Delhi, India — February 8 , 2026

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced a major relief for candidates applying for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2026 and Indian Forest Service (IFoS) Examination 2026 by extending the operating hours of its call centre and doubling its support capacity.

The move is aimed at ensuring smoother application processes and faster resolution of candidate queries during the ongoing registration period.

📞 Helpline to Operate Seven Days a Week

According to the Commission, the UPSC Call Centre will now function every day of the week, including Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.

The helpline will operate in two shifts from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, allowing candidates to seek assistance even beyond regular office hours. This is expected to benefit working professionals and aspirants in different time zones.

⚙️ Call Centre Capacity Doubled

In addition to extended hours, UPSC has doubled the manpower and technical capacity of the call centre to reduce waiting times and handle the surge in queries related to:

  • Online application submission

  • Form corrections

  • Examination notifications

  • Eligibility and documentation issues

The Commission stated that the upgrade will ensure faster, more effective, and candidate-friendly support.

🗣️ UPSC Chairperson on the Initiative

UPSC Chairperson Dr. Ajay Kumar said the decision is part of a broader effort to make the examination system more accessible and transparent.

He emphasized that the Commission is continuously working to simplify examination procedures and improve communication with aspirants, especially during critical application phases.

🎯 A Step Toward Candidate-Friendly Reforms

Education experts view this initiative as an important step toward:

  • Strengthening candidate–commission communication

  • Reducing last-minute application stress

  • Improving transparency and accountability in the examination process

UPSC has also advised candidates to use the call centre proactively and complete all application formalities well before the deadline to avoid technical issues.
