Samsung has opened pre-orders for its second-generation smart ring, the Galaxy Ring 2, in the Indian market starting today.
The Galaxy Ring 2 introduces several new capabilities beyond health and fitness tracking. The device can now serve as a digital key to unlock compatible smart home devices and select car models. Users can control lights, air conditioning, and smart locks with simple gestures or taps. The ring also supports digital car key functionality for supported vehicles.
Health monitoring features have been upgraded with more accurate bio-sensors that provide continuous tracking of stress levels, blood pressure, and blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), in addition to existing sleep and heart rate monitoring.
The ring is constructed from ultra-lightweight titanium and offers battery life of 7 to 10 days on a single charge.
Pre-orders are now live in India, with pricing expected to start at approximately ₹25,000. Shipments are scheduled to begin in mid-February 2026.
Analysts note that the Galaxy Ring 2 positions Samsung to compete directly with Apple Watch and other fitness wearables, reflecting growing consumer preference for discreet, stylish devices over bulkier gadgets.
Some technology experts have raised concerns about data privacy, given that the same device handles both personal health information and home/car security functions.
The launch comes amid market speculation about similar smart ring products from competitors.
