Salman Khan’s upcoming film inspired by the Galwan Valley clash has officially received a new title. The project, which was earlier announced as “Battle of Galwan,” will now be released under the name “Matrubhoomi: May War Rest in Peace.”
Director Apoorva Lakhia confirmed the change and explained that the decision reflects the deeper emotional theme of the story rather than focusing solely on the battlefield.
Director Explains Why the Title Was Changed
Speaking in a recent interview, Apoorva Lakhia said the title change may surprise Salman Khan’s fans, but it was not a sudden decision.
According to the director, the production team had registered two titles at the very beginning of the project—“Battle of Galwan” and “Matrubhoomi.” As the film progressed through its development stages, the team felt that the second title captured the essence of the story more accurately.
