Digital Census 2027: A Shared National Responsibility
Addressing the upcoming national census, PM Modi described it as a collective responsibility of all citizens rather than just a government exercise. He revealed that in states where self-enumeration has already taken place, officials have begun door-to-door verification. So far, data collection for approximately 12 million households has been completed.
The Prime Minister assured citizens that all submitted information would remain secure and confidential, protected under robust digital systems designed to prevent any data breaches. He urged people to actively participate and contribute to making the Census 2027 a success.
Providing further details, he explained that citizens will soon be able to fill out their census information online roughly 15 days before enumerators visit their homes. After submission, individuals will receive a unique identification code via mobile or email, which will be used later for verification. He described this integration of technology as a major reform that will make the census process faster, simpler, and more reliable.
India’s Census to Go Fully Digital
PM Modi highlighted that the upcoming census exercise will be one of the largest in the world and will be conducted entirely through digital means. This shift is expected to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accessibility, making participation easier for millions of citizens.
Pride in Girls’ Global Academic Achievements
The Prime Minister also applauded Indian students for their outstanding performance at the European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad held in Bordeaux, France earlier this month. He noted with pride that India secured the sixth position globally.
Students including Shreya Mundhada (Mumbai), Saanjana Chacko (Thiruvananthapuram), Shivani Bharath Kumar (Chennai), and Shrimoyi Behera (Kolkata) brought laurels to the nation. Shreya won a gold medal, Saanjana secured silver, and Shivani earned bronze. PM Modi praised their achievements, calling them a source of inspiration and national pride.
Technology Transforming Lives and Preserving History
Emphasizing the growing role of technology, PM Modi said it has become an integral part of everyday life, connecting India’s past with its present. He highlighted a major initiative by the National Archives of India, which has launched a digital portal hosting over 200 million historical documents.
He encouraged citizens, especially students and researchers, to explore the platform, describing it as a powerful blend of knowledge and technology that will benefit future generations.
Boost to Bamboo Sector and Local Economy
In his concluding remarks, the Prime Minister spotlighted success stories from India’s bamboo sector, particularly in the Northeast. He urged citizens to support local artisans by purchasing bamboo products, even suggesting them as thoughtful gifts.
According to PM Modi, such efforts not only uplift craftsmen but also strengthen rural economies and promote sustainable industries.
