According to reports, the company is expected to launch the electric SUV in mid-February 2026, with customer deliveries likely to begin around April 2026. The e Vitara will mark Maruti’s first “born-electric” SUV for the Indian market.

The e Vitara is expected to be retailed through Maruti’s premium NEXA dealership network. Industry sources suggest the company is positioning the SUV as a flagship EV offering, targeting the fast-growing mid-size electric SUV segment.

Battery Options and Driving Range

The electric SUV is expected to be offered with two battery pack options:

  • 49 kWh battery pack

  • 61 kWh battery pack

For the larger 61 kWh variant, the company claims an ARAI-certified driving range of approximately 543 km to 550 km on a single charge, positioning it among the longest-range EVs in its category.

Charging Details

Using an 11 kW AC fast charger, the 61 kWh battery is expected to charge from 10% to 100% in about 5.5 hours.

Performance Specifications

The larger battery variant is expected to generate:

  • 172 bhp of power

  • 192.5 Nm of torque

The SUV may accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 8.9 seconds, according to reported specifications.

Key Features

Smart Cabin

The e Vitara is expected to feature a digital cockpit setup with:

  • 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system

  • 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster

Safety Technology

The SUV is likely to include Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including:

  • Lane-Keeping Assist

Additionally, it may offer 6 to 7 airbags for enhanced safety.

Expected Price and Competition
