During the inaugural session, the Campus Director along with distinguished academicians and invited guests emphasized the significance of the timeless Indian ideal “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” – the concept that the whole world is one family.

The programme commenced with a Vedic Mangalaacharana performed by the students, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and the University Anthem. Dr. Jitendra Rayaguru delivered the welcome address, while the programme was coordinated by Dr. Sandeep Chatterjee, Coordinator of the Centre for Hindu Studies.

The inaugural session was graced by Dr. DP Sharma as a distinguished guest, Professor Khageshwar Mishra who delivered the keynote address, Professor Sudesh Kumar Sharma as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Chakradhar Meher as the Guest of Honour. The session was presided over by Professor Prabhat Kumar Mahapatra, while Dr. Siddhartha Shankar Dash proposed the vote of thanks.

The conference will continue for two days and will witness scholarly deliberations on various sub-themes such as global humanism in Hindu philosophy, religion and social harmony, and interfaith dialogue. Researchers and scholars from India and abroad will present their papers on these themes. More than one hundred participants are taking part in the conference through both offline and online modes.
