Washington, D.C. — March 6, 2026
U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps, military forces, and police, urging them to lay down their weapons amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
Speaking at the White House, Trump said that Iranian security forces should surrender immediately. He warned that if they fail to do so, they could face deadly consequences as the conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran continues to intensify.
The statement comes as the regional conflict enters its seventh consecutive day, with missile and drone attacks reported across multiple areas in the region.
Trump Calls on Iranian Forces to Lay Down Arms
During his remarks, Trump directly addressed members of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, army, and police forces, calling on them to surrender their weapons.
“If they do not lay down their arms, their death is certain,” Trump said, delivering one of his strongest warnings yet during the ongoing conflict.
He also addressed Iranian diplomats worldwide, urging them to consider seeking asylum and to work with the United States to help shape what he described as a new and better future for Iran.
U.S. Claims Major Damage to Iran’s Missile and Drone Capabilities
Trump also outlined details of ongoing military operations targeting Iran’s strategic capabilities.
According to the U.S. president, American and Israeli forces are striking Iran’s missile and drone infrastructure on an hourly basis. He claimed that significant damage had already been inflicted on Iran’s military assets.
Trump said that 24 Iranian naval vessels had been destroyed within three days, while the country’s aircraft and air defense systems were reportedly no longer operational.
He also stated that Iranian leadership appears uncertain about the scale of the attacks currently underway.
Trump Says Iran Seeking Peace Talks but U.S. Ready for Further Action
During the same briefing, Trump claimed that Iranian officials had shown interest in pursuing peace discussions.
However, he indicated that the United States remains prepared to continue military operations if necessary.
“The United States is ready for further action,” Trump said, signaling that Washington intends to maintain pressure on Tehran.
Trump Opposes Mojtaba Khamenei as Iran’s Next Supreme Leader
Trump has previously expressed views on Iran’s future leadership as well.
In earlier comments, the U.S. president suggested that Washington should have a role in shaping the political direction of Iran following the current crisis.
Trump stated that he would not support Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, becoming the country’s next top leader.
In an interview, Trump argued that Iran needs leadership capable of bringing peace and stability to the country and the broader region.
He warned that continuing with hardline leadership connected to the existing system could worsen tensions and prolong instability.
Conflict Continues to Raise Global Security Concerns
As the Middle East conflict continues, international observers are closely monitoring developments, particularly the impact on regional security and global energy markets.
Diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the situation remain uncertain, while military operations between the involved parties continue.
Analysts say the coming days could prove critical in determining whether the conflict escalates further or moves toward negotiations.
