Gunfire at Panipat Money Exchange Office Followed by Social Media Threat to Rapper Badshah
Police in Panipat, Haryana, are investigating a shooting incident at a money exchange office that was followed by a threatening message directed at rapper Badshah on social media.
According to officials, the message—posted from a page named “Randeep Malik Anil Pandit”—claimed responsibility for the firing and referenced the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Authorities are currently verifying the authenticity of the post.
Firing Reported in Model Town Area
The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon around 3:15 p.m. in the Model Town area of Panipat, near the Asandh Road Aneja petrol pump.
Police said three unidentified attackers arrived on a motorcycle and fired seven rounds at the glass exterior of a money exchange office before fleeing the scene.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.
CCTV Footage Captures Suspects
Law enforcement teams, including the Model Town police station staff, CIA unit, and the DSP headquarters team, reached the scene shortly after the attack.
CCTV footage from cameras installed at a nearby petrol station reportedly captured images of the suspects.
Initial investigations suggest the attackers had been surveying the location since early morning, raising suspicion before the shooting took place.
Office Owner Had Alerted Police Earlier
Police sources said the office operator had noticed suspicious activity around the premises earlier in the day and contacted emergency services (Dial 112) about 30 minutes before the firing.
He had reportedly gone to the police station to file a complaint at the suggestion of officers when the attackers carried out the shooting.
Social Media Post Claims Responsibility
After the incident, a post on the “Randeep Malik Anil Pandit” social media page claimed responsibility for the firing and issued a threat against rapper Badshah, referencing his controversial song “Tatiri.”
The message alleged that the song had harmed Haryana’s cultural values and contained a direct threat against the artist.
The same post also alleged that the firing at the money exchange office was linked to accusations of hawala transactions, claiming the business was involved in transferring money abroad.
Police Investigating the Online Threat
Panipat Superintendent of Police Bhupender Singh said authorities are examining the social media post as part of the investigation.
“We are verifying the authenticity of the message shared online and investigating the firing incident from all possible angles,” Singh said.
Investigation Underway
Police have launched a search operation to identify and locate the suspects involved in the shooting. Authorities are also reviewing CCTV footage and digital evidence related to the social media post.
Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses
