Ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Hamas have resumed in Cairo, with mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and the United States attempting to broker a new truce amid escalating civilian deaths in Gaza.
Diplomatic sources said progress remains slow, with both sides divided over prisoner exchanges and humanitarian corridors. The talks come after more than a month of intense clashes, which have left over 10,000 people displaced.
The United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres urged both sides to “act with restraint and prioritize civilian protection.” Regional analysts say the outcome of the Cairo dialogue could determine whether a long-term peace framework emerges before the year’s end.
