The film opens in Goa, 1991, where gangster Jimmy (Aamir Khan) clashes with two international agents. Jimmy is fatally wounded, and in the chaos, a domestic worker sacrifices herself to save the agents. Before dying, she hands over her infant son, Happy, to the British duo. Meanwhile, Jimmy dies in front of his daughter, Mama.
Fast-forward to 2025. Happy (Vir Das) dreams of becoming a slick spy like his adoptive fathers, but cooking and dancing interest him far more. Jimmy’s daughter Mama (Mona Singh), meanwhile, has grown into a full-blown Goan don. One of her many illegal ventures includes launching a desi fairness cream to rival British brands — for which she kidnaps a British scientist.
