Dubai, United Arab Emirates — March 8, 2026

Authorities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) reported that debris from an intercepted missile fell onto a residential tower in Dubai Marina, causing minor structural damage but no injuries inside the building.

The incident occurred after UAE air defense systems intercepted incoming projectiles during a broader regional escalation involving Iranian drones and ballistic missiles.

Officials confirmed that the debris struck the exterior facade of the high-rise building known as “23 Marina Tower.”

Dubai Marina Tower Incident

Interception and Falling Debris

Dubai authorities said the missile was successfully intercepted in the air, but fragments of the destroyed projectile fell onto the upper levels of 23 Marina Tower in the Dubai Marina district.

Damage Reported

Residents reported seeing smoke and small flames on the building’s upper floors shortly after the incident. Emergency services responded quickly, and the situation was brought under control.

Casualties

Officials said no injuries were reported inside the tower.

However, in a separate incident in the Al Barsha area, debris reportedly struck a vehicle, resulting in the death of a Pakistani driver, according to local reports.

UAE Defense Ministry Claims Large-Scale Interception

The UAE Ministry of Defense stated that its air defense systems successfully neutralized most incoming threats during the latest attack.

According to official figures released Saturday:

  • 15 of 16 ballistic missiles were intercepted

  • 119 of 121 drones were destroyed

Authorities said the defensive operation prevented major damage in populated areas.

Overall Conflict Numbers

Officials also released cumulative data since the beginning of the escalation.

According to the UAE government:

  • More than 1,300 Iranian drones have been detected

  • Nearly 200 ballistic missiles have been launched toward the UAE

  • The majority have been successfully intercepted by air defense systems

Flight Disruptions Near Dubai International Airport

Explosions related to aerial interceptions were reportedly heard near Dubai International Airport (DXB).

Airport authorities said the facility is currently operating under limited operations, with the possibility of delays and cancellations for several flights.

Airlines are closely monitoring the situation while adjusting schedules for passenger safety.

Authorities Urge Calm

Government officials have urged both residents and tourists to remain calm and rely only on verified updates from official sources.

Security agencies say defensive measures remain active as authorities continue to monitor the regional situation.
