New Delhi, India — May 17, 2026
Consumers in Delhi-NCR have been hit with another fuel price increase as compressed natural gas (CNG) prices were raised for the second time within 48 hours, adding further pressure on household and transportation expenses across the region.
According to the latest revision, CNG prices have been increased by ₹1 per kilogram across several cities in the National Capital Region. Following the hike, the retail price of CNG in Delhi now stands at ₹80.09 per kg, while consumers in Noida and Ghaziabad will pay ₹88.70 per kg.
The latest increase comes just two days after a previous hike of ₹2 per kg announced on May 15, marking back-to-back price revisions in a short span. The repeated increase is expected to directly impact auto-rickshaw drivers, cab operators, commercial transporters, and private vehicle owners who rely heavily on CNG as a comparatively affordable fuel option.

Petrol and Diesel Prices Also Increased Earlier This Week
The latest CNG price revision follows a major increase in petrol and diesel rates announced on May 15. Oil marketing companies raised petrol and diesel prices by ₹3 per liter each across several Indian cities.
After the revision, petrol in Delhi is now priced at ₹97.77 per liter, while diesel costs ₹90.67 per liter.
Fuel prices also recorded significant increases in other metropolitan cities:
- Kolkata petrol price rose by ₹3.29 to ₹108.74 per liter
- Mumbai petrol price increased by ₹3.14 to ₹106.68 per liter
- Chennai petrol price climbed by ₹2.83 to ₹103.67 per liter
The consecutive hikes in CNG, petrol, and diesel prices are expected to further contribute to transportation and logistics costs, with consumers closely monitoring future fuel price movements.
