A powerful wave of devotion is sweeping through Haridwar, where thousands of pilgrims are thronging registration centers for the annual Char Dham Yatra.
At the Rishikul Ground registration facility, authorities witnessed an overwhelming turnout on Saturday, signaling one of the strongest starts to the pilgrimage season in recent years. Officials have ramped up security and logistical arrangements to manage the growing influx of devotees.
Over 4,500 Registrations in a Single Day
According to official data, 4,581 pilgrims registered in a single day, reflecting intense enthusiasm among devotees.
Breakdown of preferences shows:
- Kedarnath: 1,422 registrations (highest demand)
- Badrinath: 1,312 pilgrims
- Gangotri: 932 pilgrims
- Yamunotri: 915 pilgrims
Interestingly, no registrations were recorded for Hemkund Sahib during the same period.
Total Registrations Cross 43,000 Mark
The Rishikul Ground center has processed 43,259 registrations so far, underlining the scale of participation in this year’s yatra.
Authorities have implemented enhanced measures to ensure a smooth experience, including:
- Continuous monitoring of registration counters
- Crowd management systems to reduce waiting time
- Technical support to prevent registration delays
Officials emphasized that the administration’s priority remains safe, seamless, and well-coordinated pilgrimage management.

With the number of pilgrims rising steadily, the Uttarakhand administration is focusing on efficient crowd handling and safety protocols. Additional personnel, medical support, and real-time monitoring systems have been deployed to avoid congestion and ensure a hassle-free process.
Experts note that the early surge in registrations indicates a strong revival in religious tourism, with Char Dham continuing to be one of India’s most significant spiritual journeys.
