New Delhi, India — May 4, 2026

In a high-energy address at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday celebrated the party’s sweeping victories across multiple states, calling the results a “defining moment” for India’s democratic strength and future direction.

Addressing party workers and supporters, PM Modi said the visible joy among BJP cadres reflects years of dedication turning into tangible success. He emphasized that the election outcome is not just a political victory but a reaffirmation of public trust in governance, performance, and democratic values.

“This is a day of confidence—confidence in India’s democracy, in performance-driven politics, and in the vision of  a united and great India,” PM Modi said.

Victory Across States Strengthens NDA Momentum

The Prime Minister highlighted BJP and National Democratic Alliance (NDA) successes in several by-elections, noting wins in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Nagaland, and Tripura. He also acknowledged the victory of NDA leader Sunetra Pawar, describing the results as a reflection of widespread public support.

PM Modi expressed gratitude to voters across states, stating that the outcomes reinforce faith in democratic processes and governance models centered on delivery and accountability.

“Democracy Runs in India’s Veins”

Underscoring the significance of the electoral process,PM Modi described India as the “Mother of Democracy,” pointing to high voter turnout—including nearly 93% participation in parts of West Bengal—as evidence of strong democratic engagement.

“Democracy is not just a system for us—it is part of our cultural DNA,” he said. “Today, not just democracy has won, but the Constitution, our institutions, and our democratic traditions have also triumphed.”

Assam, Puducherry and Regional Growth Focus

Referring to Assam, PM Modi noted unprecedented support for BJP even in tea garden regions, signaling deeper grassroots acceptance. He added that the state is poised to accelerate its development trajectory.

In Puducherry, the Prime Minister reiterated the NDA government’s commitment to fulfilling its development vision, especially for youth and fishing communities, assuring continued policy focus and support.

“Citizens First” Governance Drives BJP Expansion

Highlighting BJP’s growing political footprint, PM Modi stated that the party or NDA is currently governing in more than 20 states across India.

“Our guiding principle is ‘Citizens First’ (Nagrik Devo Bhava). Public service is our priority, and that is why people are placing greater trust in BJP,” he said.

He pointed to recent electoral trends, including consecutive victories in Haryana, strong performances in Maharashtra, Delhi, and Bihar, as indicators of consistent public endorsement of BJP’s governance model.

West Bengal Result Marks “New Beginning”

Calling the West Bengal outcome historic, PM Modi said the state has entered a “new chapter” of development and political transformation.

“From today, Bengal is free from fear and filled with confidence in development,” he declared, framing the result as a turning point in the state’s political landscape.

He dedicated the victory to the people of West Bengal and acknowledged the efforts and sacrifices of BJP workers, particularly those who faced challenges and violence during political campaigns.

Tribute to Ideological Leaders and Workers

PM Modi also paid tribute to Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, stating that the results would bring satisfaction to his legacy and vision for a united India.

He further recognized the contributions of party workers and their families, particularly women workers who endured hardships, crediting them as the backbone of the party’s success.

Conclusion

The Prime Minister concluded his address by dedicating the electoral victories to the people, reiterating that the mandate reflects trust in governance, development, and democratic values.

“This victory belongs to the citizens of India,” PM Modi said, reinforcing his administration’s focus on people-centric governance and national progress.
