Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has shared a heartfelt memory from his past while speaking about his admiration for romantic films from the 1990s. In a recent interview, Aamir Khan said he has always enjoyed watching “pure romance” on screen and recalled an emotional experience while watching Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

Aamir Khan revealed that he watched the film at Mumbai’s Rajkamal Theater with his former wife Reena Dutta. He said the film was so emotional that he began crying during the screening.

A Tearful Theater Moment

In a lighthearted anecdote, Aamir Khan said he used Reena Dutta’s dupatta to wipe his tears, but the zari embroidery caused minor scratches on his face. The story has drawn attention online, with fans appreciating the candid glimpse into his personal life.

Admiration for 1990s Romantic Films

Aamir Khan said films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge defined a memorable era of romance in Indian cinema. He noted that actors like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan became widely associated with the genre.

While Aamir Khan acknowledged that he has done fewer romantic films compared to his contemporaries, he described himself as a strong admirer of the genre. He cited Fanaa as an example of a film that represents “pure romance.”

Focus on Junaid Khan’s ‘Ek Din’

Aamir Khan is also currently supporting his son Junaid Khan’s upcoming film Ek Din, which is scheduled to release in theaters on May 1, 2026.

The film features Sai Pallavi in a lead role alongside Junaid Khan. Aamir Khan said the story is simple and inspired by classic romantic themes, which led him to produce the project.

He added that Ek Din reflects the emotional depth and storytelling style seen in earlier decades, aiming to reconnect audiences with heartfelt narratives.
