Srinagar, India — April 22, 2026
On the first anniversary of the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi paid tribute to the victims, emphasizing that India will neither forget nor forgive those responsible for the violence.
In a message shared Wednesday on social media platform X, Gandhi described the attack as a “cowardly act” and said the loss of innocent lives continues to deeply affect the nation.
“The country will never forget this heinous attack, and those responsible will not be forgiven,” Gandhi wrote, reaffirming India’s firm stance against terrorism.
Tribute to Victims and Families
Reflecting on the tragedy that occurred last year in Pahalgam, Gandhi said the memory of those who lost their lives still “shakes the conscience” of the nation. He honored the victims as brave individuals whose sacrifice would remain etched in India’s collective memory.
He also expressed solidarity with the families of those killed, stating that their grief is shared by the entire country. “The pain of the martyrs’ families is the pain of the nation,” he said.
Strong Message Against Terrorism
Gandhi reiterated that India would stand firm against forces that promote violence and hatred. He emphasized that the country would never bow to terrorism and remains committed to upholding peace and unity.
The anniversary has drawn tributes from leaders across the political spectrum, as citizens and officials remember the victims and renew calls for continued vigilance against extremist threats.
