Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned that Russia is preparing to continue the war into next year, urging Western countries, especially the United States, to increase military and financial support for Ukraine.
Speaking amid ongoing Russian attacks, Zelenskyy said intelligence inputs suggest Moscow is not scaling back its war plans and is instead preparing for a long-term conflict. He emphasized that Ukraine’s ability to defend itself depends heavily on sustained assistance from its allies.
Appeal to Western Nations
Zelenskyy stressed that continued Western support is crucial to counter Russia’s military strategy. He specifically appealed to the US and European partners to maintain and strengthen aid commitments, warning that any delay or reduction could embolden Russia.
“Russia is preparing to keep fighting,” Zelenskyy said, adding that Ukraine needs weapons, air defense systems, and economic backing to withstand prolonged pressure.
Concerns Over Prolonged Conflict
The Ukrainian leader noted that Russia appears to be adapting its economy and military production for an extended war, signaling that the conflict could stretch well into 2026 if unchecked. He reiterated that global unity remains key to resisting Russian aggression.
The warning comes as Ukraine faces continued missile and drone attacks, while diplomatic efforts to end the conflict remain stalled.
