Srinagar : During the Amarnath Yatra, a woman has died due to a heavy stone falling from the mountain, while two police personnel have been injured. According to the information, there has been an incident of stone falling from the mountain on the road leading to the Amarnath cave temple in Pahalgam, South Kashmir. In which a woman passenger was killed and two local policemen were injured. Police sources said that one of the deceased woman pilgrims has been identified as 53-year-old Urmila Ben.
Apart from this, two local policemen of the rescue team, identified as Muhammad Salim and Muhammad Yaseen, were injured after being hit by stones.
Police sources said efforts were made to rescue all three, but the woman pilgrim succumbed to her injuries on the way to the hospital, while two policemen were rescued by the army and taken to the hospital in a private helicopter. In this case, Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbag Singh has condoled the death of the female passenger and appreciated those who rescued the two policemen and took them to the hospital. Appreciated the bravery and devotion to duty of both the policemen. ( PLC/GT )
