US Security Agencies Face Criticism Following Twin Attacks on Trump

Former US President Donald Trump has recently been attacked twice, raising serious questions about the security protocol and the effectiveness of the US security agency. Trump’s son has recently issued a statement in which he has said that his father hates Trump, but such hatred does not lead to violence. The statement makes it clear that Trump’s opponents are widespread in the US, as seen in recent election surveys. However, after the attacks on Trump, the debate on social media seems to be less.

During the first attack, there was a discussion on social media whether Trump tried to gain sympathy by getting himself attacked. After this attack, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have condemned the attack and expressed satisfaction with Trump’s security. In India too, when a candidate is attacked, questions arise whether this attack is self-sponsored. In Indian politics, sometimes people with small positions sponsor such attacks to get security.

In the first attack, Trump was hit by a deadly rifle bullet near his ear, causing bleeding in his ear. Trump was attacked for the second time just a month later. This has raised questions about the effectiveness of the President’s security agency. In the US, the President is considered the most powerful person on earth, and the security agency has strict protocols for his protection.

Agents are trained to protect the President and Vice President by forming a ring of their bodies in case of any attack. Only an investigation into these attacks and security lapses will make it clear whether there are any flaws in the security protocols or not. ( PLC & GT )
