Terrorist Attack in Kashmir: 3 Soldiers and 1 Civilian Killed Near LOC

Deadly Terrorist Attack Near LOC in Baramulla District

Srinagar – In a shocking incident near the Line of Control (LOC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, terrorists launched an attack on a vehicle belonging to the 18 Rashtriya Rifles. The ambush, which occurred in the Gulmarg sector’s Nagin area, resulted in the death of three soldiers and a civilian porter. This brutal attack has shaken the region, marking another tragic loss in the ongoing struggle against terrorism.

Attack Details: Military Losses and Casualties

According to military sources, the terrorists opened fire on the army vehicle, leading to multiple casualties. Alongside the tragic death of three soldiers, seven additional soldiers sustained injuries. The wounded personnel were immediately rushed to Srinagar’s 92 Base Hospital for medical attention, but despite efforts, three succumbed to their injuries.

The attack also claimed the life of a civilian porter, employed by the army in the region. His loss, alongside the soldiers, highlights the indiscriminate nature of terrorist violence in the region.

Search Operation Initiated in Response to the Attack

In response to the attack, security forces quickly launched a counter-operation in the area. The military suspects that more than three terrorists could be responsible for this heinous act. A manhunt is currently underway to track down the attackers and bring them to justice.

The region has been cordoned off, and multiple security agencies are collaborating to find the perpetrators. The attack underscores the ever-present threat of terrorism along the LOC, where such incidents continue to be a grave concern for both civilians and security personnel.

Terrorism Escalates: Recent Attacks Targeting Non-Local Workers

This attack comes on the heels of another shooting earlier in the day. In South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, a migrant worker from Uttar Pradesh, Shubham Kumar, was critically injured in a terrorist attack in the Batgund area. Kumar is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

This marks the third such attack on non-Kashmiris in the region over the past week. The rising violence targeting migrant workers is a cause for alarm, with terrorist groups focusing on creating fear among non-local populations. Earlier this month, on October 20, militants carried out a targeted killing in Ganderbal, followed by another in Shopian on October 18, leading to the deaths of seven civilians.

Militant Group Claims Responsibility for the Attack

The terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba’s (LeT) shadow organization, The Resistance Front (TRF), has claimed responsibility for the attack on the army vehicle. TRF has become infamous for targeting non-local laborers, security forces, and minority communities in Jammu and Kashmir.

TRF’s increasing attacks have been aimed at spreading chaos and fear among civilians, especially migrant workers and Sikhs in the region. This growing trend of targeted killings has left security agencies grappling with the challenges of counter-terrorism efforts amidst rising concerns for civilian safety.

High-Level Security Meeting in Wake of Continuous Terrorist Attacks

Given the continuous wave of terror incidents in the region, a high-level security meeting was convened at the Raj Bhavan. The meeting sought to assess the current security situation and outline further steps to ensure the protection of civilians and army personnel in vulnerable areas.

The spate of terrorist attacks and the growing trend of targeting non-Kashmiris has prompted security agencies to tighten vigilance and reinforce counter-terror operations across the region. Despite the security forces’ efforts, the threat of terrorism continues to loom large over Jammu and Kashmir, requiring constant vigilance and swift action to prevent further loss of life.
