A series of four camps, spread over one month, hosted by Air Force Station Kasauli, under aegis of AFWWA, the camp is open to school children of the IAF personnel between age group of 11 – 18 years. The campers are exposed to numerous adventure activities like rappelling, jumaring and river crossing. Volunteers from far off places like Thiruvananthapuram have also applied for the participation in the camp. The Kasauli Summer Adventure Camp is conducted under professional care of the Air Warriors from Jungle and Snow Survival School (J&SS) of the IAF. All activities of the Summer Adventure Camp from the ‘arrival at Kasauli’ till the break off ‘Camp fire’ are overseen by the Station Commander AF Stn Kasauli, Gp Capt PS Sethi and President AFWWA (Local), Mrs. Suranjana Sethi. The seven-day adventure camp experience is well structured and planned to imbibe good values to young impressionable minds of the participants. At the end of the camp the participants leave as confident teenagers with improved survival skills and having learnt the importance of team work, dignity for labour, love for nature and camaraderie. In present times, when parents find it difficult to pull out their children – away from gizmos and screens, the summer adventure camp is gaining popularity not just as a healthy excursion, but as a wholesome experience that leaves participant with richer values in life and also carry with them nostalgia of an exciting experience of Kasauli and more importantly a higher self esteem.
