Snowfall in Kashmir and Himachal; Dense Fog Grips North India

Now the cold has started increasing in North India. The temperature in Delhi is falling and in the coming days, the minimum temperature will fall. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has issued a fog alert in states like Delhi NCR, UP, Rajasthan and Punjab. According to the Meteorological Department, smog and moderate fog may occur in Delhi on Thursday morning. Due to this, the cold may increase in the morning.

After this, there may be moderate or dense fog on Friday morning. Due to this, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert. In case of moderate fog, the minimum visibility is 200 to 500 meters and in case of dense fog, the minimum visibility is 50 to 200 meters.

A drop in temperature is also being recorded in Rajasthan. Ajmer recorded a temperature of 3.1 and Barmer 3.4 degrees. The Meteorological Department says that the temperature will remain the same for the next 2-3 days, there is no possibility of any special change in it. There may be light to moderate fog in the northern areas of the state. Rajasthan will see a tremendous change in the weather from the first week of December.

At the same time, there has been snowfall in many areas of Himachal and snowfall in Kashmir on Wednesday and snowfall is expected on Thursday as well. Due to winds blowing from the northwest, the minimum temperature on Wednesday morning fell by one and a half degrees Celsius compared to the previous day. But due to clear skies and sunshine during the day, the maximum temperature was above normal. Due to this, the weather remained warm during the day.

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in Delhi on Wednesday was 27.3 degrees Celsius, which is one degree Celsius above normal. The minimum temperature was 10.4 degrees Celsius, which is normal. The minimum temperature in Lodhi Road was the lowest at 9.4 degrees Celsius.

Due to light fog, the minimum visibility near Safdarjung was 900 meters at 7 am. Later, the visibility increased to 1600 meters at 8.30 am. A day earlier, the maximum temperature in Delhi was 26.7 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 11.9 degrees Celsius.

Intermittent rain continued in the Cauvery delta areas of Tamil Nadu on Wednesday and it damaged the standing paddy crop in the fields. Farmers estimate that standing crops in about 2000 acres have been affected. AIADMK General Secretary AK Palaniswami expressed surprise at the 1,500 acres of paddy crop being affected in Tiruvarur district and demanded that the concerned officials inspect the rain-affected areas and urged the DMK government to provide proper relief to the farmers.

According to the weather department, the deep depression over the southwest Bay of Bengal has moved slowly north-northwestwards with a speed of 3 kmph. It lies 320 km southeast of Nagapattinam, 420 km southeast of Puducherry and 500 km south-southeast of Chennai.

As the deep depression over the southwest Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a cyclone and move towards Tamil Nadu, IndiGo Airlines informed its passengers that flight services to Chennai, Tuticorin, Madurai, Tiruchirappalli and Salem will remain affected.
