Shravan 2023: Lord Mahakal to Grace Devotees with 10 Majestic Rides

INVC NEWS
Ujjain : The first ride of Lord Mahakal in Shravan 2023 is scheduled to take place on July 10th. The Shravan-Bhadau month, during which the ride will occur, will be celebrated at the Mahakaleshwar temple from July 4th to September 11th, 2023. This year, there will be a total of 10 rides of Lord Mahakal due to the longer duration of the month.

During the month of Shravan-Bhadau, Lord Mahakal will wake up one to one and a half hours earlier than usual to accommodate the devotees. The temple doors will open at 2:30 pm on every Monday of Shravan and at 3 pm on other days. The Bhasm Aarti of Lord Mahakal will be held at 3 am from July 4th to September 11th, and at 2:30 am on Mondays. During the Bhasm Aarti, special arrangements will be made for devotees to have darshan from the last three rows of Kartikeya Mandapam.

In the meeting, it was instructed that VIPs should enter the temple from Begambagh and Gate No. 1 on Mondays during the month of Shravan-Bhadau. The arrangements for the ride and the royal ride were reviewed, and similar arrangements as the last Mahashivratri festival were requested for the Nagpanchami festival to facilitate quick treatment of visiting devotees.

A control room will be set up in the temple itself for the Nagpanchami festival. Guidelines were given regarding the provision of tents, drinking water, and barricading for the pilgrims. The collector emphasized the need for adequate barricading around the temple premises and the installation of screens throughout the Mahakal Lok. The Superintendent of Police directed all departments to form coordination committees for arrangements, ensure proper parking for devotees’ vehicles, and complete barricading three hours before the ride.

Overall, the authorities are taking various measures to manage the influx of devotees and ensure a smooth and organized experience for everyone visiting the Mahakaleshwar temple during the Shravan-Bhadau month and the Nagpanchami festival in 2023.
