SDPI National President E. Abubacker has strongly condemned Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip in which seven Palestinians, including top Hamas commander Ahmed Jaabari and two children were killed. In a statement issued in response to Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, he said that killing of innocent Palestinians in such manner is blatant violation of fundamental humanitarian principles. International community’s silence on such incidents is disturbing.  Israeli air attacks in Gaza that has targeted not only the Hamas leadership but also innocent civilians. Israeli threats of a ground offensive against Gaza are even more disturbing. SDPI also deeply concerned that an escalation in the violence could lead to a spreading of the conflict to engulf the region. SDPI considers the Israeli action as a grave violation of international law and all humanitarian norms.   E. Abubacker urged the Indian government to mobilize diplomatic effort on urgent basis to play its role in stopping the potential genocide of Palestinian Muslims. He also urged local and international human rights organizations to fight against the atrocities on the Palestinian community. E. abubacker warned that continued attacks on Palestine will fuel hatred both locally and internationally. He urged the international community to pressurize the Israeli government to take urgent measures for ending the massacre of Palestine. We call upon the UNO and the international community need to condemn this act of aggression and call for a halt in Israel’s murderous action, he added.
