PM Modi addresses rally in Purba Bardhaman targeting TMC

Purba Bardhaman, West Bengal — April 11, 2026

The PM Narendra Modi intensified the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) campaign in West Bengal on Saturday, promising a decisive crackdown on alleged corruption and illegal activities if the party comes to power.

Addressing a large public rally in Purba Bardhaman, the Prime Minister targeted the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC), accusing it of fostering a “syndicate raj” during its years in power.

‘Syndicate Raj Will End,’ Says PM

PM Modi alleged that corruption had been institutionalized at multiple levels, involving ministers, legislators, and local networks.

He said the BJP would release a white paper detailing alleged irregularities during the TMC’s tenure, adding that strict action would be taken against those found responsible.

“Our government will ensure accountability and take firm steps to end illegal mining, violence, and corruption,” he stated.

₹3,000 Monthly Aid for Women Promised

In a bid to appeal to women voters, PM Modi announced that a BJP-led government would provide ₹3,000 per month as financial assistance to women in the state.

He also accused the TMC of spreading misinformation about the BJP’s policies, asserting that existing welfare schemes would not be discontinued but instead streamlined to eliminate corruption and middlemen.

Focus on Governance and Transparency

The Prime Minister emphasized that welfare delivery would be made more transparent, with benefits reaching citizens directly without intermediaries.

He added that the BJP’s approach would focus on:

  • Eliminating corruption networks
  • Strengthening law enforcement
  • Ensuring efficient governance

Political Context

With the West Bengal Assembly elections approaching, political rhetoric has intensified between the BJP and Trinamool Congress.

The rally in Purba Bardhaman marks a key moment in the BJP’s campaign, as the party seeks to expand its support base in the state.
