PM Modi presided over an important meeting on his return from a foreign trip

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired an important meeting in Delhi on Monday after returning from a foreign trip. During this, Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitamaran, Urban Development Minister Hardeep Puri were present. During this, senior officials including Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister PK Mishra were also present. PM Modi returned home in the early hours of Monday after a state visit to America and Egypt.

Earlier, Amit Shah had met PM Modi and informed him about the developments in Manipur. On Sunday, Manipur Chief Minister Biren Singh briefed Amit Shah about the situation in the state. He had said that the state and central governments were capable of controlling the violence.

A day before this i.e. on Saturday, the Home Minister had chaired an all-party meeting on the situation in Manipur. The three-hour long meeting was attended by 18 political parties, four MPs from the Northeast and two chief ministers of the region. The Home Minister told the all-party meeting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is constantly monitoring the situation in Manipur since day one and is taking sensitive steps to solve the problem.(  PLC/GT )
