Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin a two-day visit to Assam on Saturday, during which he will inaugurate key development projects and participate in major cultural events. The visit is expected to boost infrastructure, connectivity and tourism in the northeastern state.
PM Modi to Flag Off Two Amrit Bharat Trains
As part of his visit, the Prime Minister will flag off two Amrit Bharat trains, further expanding India’s upgraded semi-high-speed rail network. These trains are designed to enhance passenger comfort, improve travel time and strengthen inter-state rail connectivity.
Foundation Stone of Kaziranga Elevated Corridor
PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the highly anticipated Kaziranga Elevated Corridor, a landmark infrastructure project aimed at protecting wildlife movement in the Kaziranga National Park region.
The elevated stretch is expected to reduce road accidents involving animals and ensure smoother ecological migration across the area.
Cultural Experience: Bagurumba Dance Performance
The Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive in Assam on Saturday evening. He will attend a vibrant cultural showcase at the Arjun Bhogeswar Barua Sports Stadium, where around 10,000 artists will perform the traditional Bodo folk dance Bagurumba.
The large-scale performance is expected to be one of the highlights of the visit, celebrating Assam’s rich indigenous heritage.
PM Modi’s engagements underscore the government’s continued push for connectivity, cultural preservation and sustainable development in the Northeast.
