The upcoming film “Jan Nayagan,” starring actor Vijay, has been in the spotlight in recent days due to delays in receiving its censor certification. Amid the ongoing discussion, actor and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has shared his views on the issue.
The film’s release was reportedly postponed earlier because of delays related to its certification process.
Government Should Not Be Blamed, Says Pawan Kalyan
In a recent interview, Pawan Kalyan stated that holding the NDA government responsible for the delay would not be appropriate.
According to him, the issue should be viewed as an administrative matter within the certification authority rather than a political issue.
He said that the situation surrounding “Jan Nayagan” was not handled properly at the censor board level, but linking it to the government would be misleading.
Rules Apply Equally to All Films
While explaining his point, Pawan Kalyan cited an example from his own upcoming film “OG.”
He noted that the censor board evaluates films according to its guidelines. In the case of his film, the board granted an “A” certificate due to high levels of violence, even though the filmmakers had expected a U/A certification.
He emphasized that rules remain the same for everyone, and governments do not create different standards for those in power.
Legal Route May Have Influenced the Situation
Pawan Kalyan also suggested that the outcome could have been different if the producers of “Jan Nayagan” had not taken the matter to court.
According to him, once a case enters the legal system, decisions must follow the judicial process, which can affect the timeline of the film’s release.
Film’s Release Was Initially Planned for January
The film “Jan Nayagan” was originally scheduled to release on January 9, 2026, but the delay in obtaining certification pushed back the release timeline.
Directed by H. Vinoth, the film features Vijay in the lead role, alongside Mamitha Baiju, Pooja Hegde, and Bobby Deol in significant roles.
With the certification issue still under discussion, audiences and industry observers are now waiting for further updates regarding the film’s final release date.
