PM Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation with Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian, focusing on regional developments, maritime security, and strengthening bilateral ties.
During the call, PM Modi conveyed warm greetings to President Masoud Pezeshkian on the occasions of Eid and Nowruz. Both leaders expressed hope that the festive period would bring peace, stability, and prosperity to the West Asian region.
Raising concerns over recent developments, PM Modi strongly condemned attacks on critical infrastructure, stating that such actions pose a serious threat to regional stability and disrupt global supply chains. The remarks come amid heightened tensions impacting energy routes and trade flows.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of safeguarding freedom of navigation and ensuring that international shipping lanes remain open and secure. This issue remains critical for global commerce, particularly for countries dependent on maritime trade routes.
PM Narendra Modi also appreciated Iran’s continued support in ensuring the safety and security of Indian nationals residing in the country, highlighting ongoing cooperation between the two nations.
