Jeet Adani AI Sovereignty Speech

New Delhi, India — February 19, 2026

India must develop its own artificial intelligence instead of importing it, Jeet Adani said at a major tech summit, announcing a massive $100 billion investment to build sovereign AI infrastructure powered by green energy.

He warned that AI will redefine global power structures and said nations that control compute, cloud, and energy will shape the future digital order. The plan aims to create a multi-gigawatt ecosystem designed to support India’s next technological revolution.

Jeet Adani Unveils $100B AI Infrastructure Plan

Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Defence & Aerospace, said artificial intelligence will fundamentally redefine national sovereignty in the coming years, urging India to build its own AI capabilities instead of relying on imported technologies.

Speaking at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, Adani emphasized that the country faces a strategic choice: adopt foreign intelligence systems or develop domestic ones capable of competing globally.

AI Sovereignty as a National Priority

Adani argued that sovereignty in the modern era is no longer limited to territorial or political control. Instead, he described energy, compute, cloud, and service sovereignty as the foundational pillars of modern nationhood.

He stated that inclusion without capability leads to weakness, while capability without sovereignty creates dependence on external systems. According to him, India’s rise should focus on enabling global balance and building inclusive technology frameworks rather than dominance.

$100 Billion Investment Announcement

Adani announced that Adani Group plans to invest $100 billion to build a sovereign, green-energy-powered AI infrastructure platform for India.

He said the initiative is not merely a data-center expansion project but part of a broader plan to develop:

  • Up to 5 gigawatts of AI compute capacity

  • A fully integrated energy + computing ecosystem

  • Long-term infrastructure supporting India’s “intelligence revolution”

The proposed ecosystem could represent a total value of roughly $250 billion, combining renewable energy generation, advanced computing infrastructure, and cloud capabilities.

Strategic Vision for India’s AI Future

Adani stressed that AI should first serve as a tool to empower Indian citizens rather than only a mechanism for profit maximization. He framed domestic AI development as essential for technological independence, economic resilience, and long-term strategic security.

Industry observers say the announcement signals growing private-sector participation in India’s national AI ambitions, especially in infrastructure-heavy segments such as compute, energy, and cloud systems.
