India’s Weather Extremes: Heatwaves Grip States, Heavy Rain Alerts Issued

New Delhi : It is extremely hot in many states across the country. Heatwave alert has been issued in many states including the national capital Delhi. At the same time, the beginning of May was a great relief for the people of Delhi. Despite being sunny throughout the day, the temperature did not increase due to strong winds. The situation was such that due to snowfall in the mountains and cold rain, there was a significant drop in the maximum temperature of Delhi on Wednesday.

At the same time, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave alert in many states today i.e. on May 2 and an orange alert for heavy rain in five north-eastern states. According to the Meteorological Department, heatwave conditions can be seen in West Bengal, Odisha, Gujarat and Maharashtra on May 5. According to IMD forecast, heatwave conditions are likely in Maharashtra, Gujarat till May 5.

How will be the weather of Delhi?

Amidst the scorching heat, people are getting relief from heat wave in Delhi. The Meteorological Department has predicted clear sky on Thursday and strong winds at a speed of 35 to 45 km per hour during the day. The minimum and maximum temperatures are likely to be 21 and 37 degrees Celsius respectively. Saturday will be partly cloudy and there may be light rain at night.

Heatwave alert issued in these states of Bihar

Amidst the ongoing scorching heat in Bihar, the Meteorological Department has predicted that heat wave conditions will persist in many states even today. These states include – Vaishali, Gopalganj, Muzaffarpur, Shivhar, Supaul, Kaimur, Aurangabad, Nawada, Lakhisarai, Begusarai, Khagaria, Munger, Jamui and Banka districts, warning has been issued regarding the possibility of heat wave. According to the Meteorological Center, the effect of heat wave will continue in 17 cities including Patna. Whereas, there is a possibility of hot days in Kishanganj and Gaya of the state.

Chances of rain in Uttar Pradesh

People in Uttar Pradesh are also troubled by the heat. The temperature starts rising as soon as the day starts. By noon, it becomes difficult for people to go out of the house due to the heat wave. However, some relief is expected today. Different temperatures are being recorded in many parts of the state. The Meteorological Department has predicted that the weather will change from May 4. There may be rain with cloudy sky, it will be cloudy on May 5th and 6th also.
