The victim Benudhara Muduli has lodged a complaint with the Bhubaneswar cyber police station. Talking to media persons here on Wednesday, he alleged that recently he received a video call from an unknown naked girl on his WhatsApp.
He said, “Later, I got a call from a person, who claimed himself to be IPS officer Rahul ji. He said that he has nude pictures and videos, and a case will be registered against me. He asked to step out. Demanded Rs 1.5 lakh.”

Fearing a police case, Benudhar said that he has transferred Rs 71,000 in four installments to the account numbers of the cyber criminals. Cyber police officials said that they have started investigation in the matter.
This is not the first such case in Odisha. Recently, an engineer from Bhubaneshwar was also trapped in a honey trap and suffered a loss of Rs 25 lakh.
