For better security and to keep a constant watch on the railway tracks, the department is working on a plan to install high-tech cameras on poles along the railway tracks. Initially, there is a plan to install these cameras on poles of some sensitive or marked railway tracks. These will be monitored by railway employees posted at nearby gateman stations. From where the information will be given to the railway control.
It is worth noting that for the past few months, incidents of placing gas cylinders, iron rods or other suspicious objects on railway tracks have been coming to the fore. According to top officials, to curb such incidents, RPF and GRP will jointly patrol the railway tracks. ( PLC & GT )
