INVC NEWS
New Delhi : Heavy snowfall is occurring in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. After snowfall in Lahaul Spiti, Himachal, 36 roads and 45 electricity transformers are at a standstill. NH 3 from Solangnala to Atal Tunnel and NH 305 Jalori Jot road have been closed for traffic.

At the same time, after the snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, the Kupwara to Tangdhar Keran road has been closed. The Mughal Road connecting Kashmir to Rajouri and Poonch is also closed. On November 30, there was snowfall of two and a half feet on Mughal Road from Poshana to Peer Ki Gali. Here, it has been raining continuously in Tamil Nadu since November 28. Roads are flooded in many cities of Chennai. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that there may be heavy rains in the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu between December 1 and 4.

The outbreak of cold wave has increased due to rain and snowfall in Himachal. A drop of up to four degrees Celsius has been recorded in the maximum temperature. The minimum temperature in many cities has also reached near 5 degrees Celsius. A white blanket of snow has spread in Hatu Mata Temple and Chanshal of Narkanda, Shimla. Snowfall is expected on the higher peaks of Shimla, Kullu, Kinnaur, Mandi, Chamba, Lahaul Spiti, Kangra and Sirmaur during the next 24 hours. The Meteorological Department has issued a forecast that Western Disturbance will remain active in the state till December 3.

The Meteorological Department estimates that just as November passed with very little winter, December will also be similar. Except in some parts of Rajasthan and Gujarat, the day temperature this month is likely to be one or two degrees above normal across India. The reason for this is that a western disturbance is passing through the northern Himalayan region. A depression area has formed in the Bay of Bengal, which can turn into a storm in the next two-three days. The winds coming from both these directions with moisture are hitting Central India. Due to this, there is a possibility of rain and thundershowers in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra in the next two-three days. After this, the first three-four days of December are likely to be spent in rain. After this, the weather will remain clear in the rest of the country except South India for two weeks. Due to this, the day temperature in the states from North, West to East and Central India will be between 18 to 27 degrees Celsius. This is one to two degrees more than normal.
