The romantic drama Do Deewane Shaher Mein, starring Mrunal Thakur and Siddhant Chaturvedi, has shown limited growth at the box office during its opening weekend. Released on Friday, the film was expected to see an uptick in collections on Sunday, but early estimates suggest otherwise.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film collected approximately ₹1.13 crore on its third day (Sunday). These figures are preliminary and subject to revision. With this, the total domestic box office collection now stands at ₹3.88 crore.
Weekend Performance Remains Modest
After opening with ₹1.25 crore on Friday, the film witnessed a slight increase on Saturday, earning ₹1.50 crore. However, Sunday’s earnings dipped compared to Saturday, indicating limited word-of-mouth momentum.
Despite the typical weekend advantage, Do Deewane Shaher Mein has not delivered a significant box office surge. Trade analysts note that the film’s growth trajectory remains modest compared to competing releases.
Storyline and Audience Response
The film tells the story of a young couple navigating love and emotional challenges in an urban setting. While its soundtrack has received positive feedback and the on-screen chemistry between Thakur and Chaturvedi has been appreciated, critics and early viewers suggest that the screenplay may be the film’s weakest link.
Competition at the Box Office
The film is currently competing with Taapsee Pannu’s latest release Assi, which collected ₹97 lakh on its third day. Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor’s O Romeo continues to dominate theatrical screens, earning ₹2.84 crore on its tenth day, maintaining a stronger hold at the box office.
With multiple films vying for audience attention, the coming weekdays will be crucial in determining whether Do Deewane Shaher Mein can stabilize its run or continue facing box office pressure.
