Mumbai | January 16, 2026: The Indian box office witnessed mixed momentum on Thursday as ‘Dhurandhar’ continued its remarkable dominance, while ‘The Raja Saab’ and ‘21’ struggled to maintain their pace. With new releases arriving today, all eyes are on how the holdovers will fare through the weekend.
‘Dhurandhar’ Refuses to Slow Down
Ranveer Singh–starrer ‘Dhurandhar’ remains unstoppable more than six weeks after release. The film, which hit theaters on December 5, 2025, has already crossed the ₹800 crore benchmark and continues to draw strong crowds.
Wednesday collection: ₹3 crore
Thursday (Day 42) collection: ₹3 crore
Total box office collection: ₹816.6 crore
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the action entertainer faces minimal competition, helping it maintain steady earnings even after 42 days. With new releases such as ‘Rahu Ketu’ and ‘Happy Patel’ arriving today, it remains to be seen whether they affect ‘Dhurandhar’s long-running momentum.
‘The Raja Saab’ Slows Down Significantly
Prabhas’ big-budget film ‘The Raja Saab’, released on January 9, is seeing a noticeable drop in box office strength. Despite its wide release, the film has not delivered the expected numbers.
Wednesday collection: ₹5.35 crore
Thursday (Day 7) collection: ₹5.65 crore
Total net collection: ₹130.40 crore
The film’s slowdown raises concerns about its long-term prospects, especially against a strong performer like ‘Dhurandhar’.
‘21’ Struggles After 15 Days
Alongside these releases, ‘21’, starring the late Dharmendra in his final performance and marking the debut of Agastya Nanda, continues to underperform despite critical appreciation for its story and direction.
Wednesday collection: ₹52 lakh
Thursday (Day 15) collection: ₹43 lakh
Total net collection: ₹30.57 crore
Even after 15 days in theaters, ‘21’ is yet to cross the ₹50 crore mark.
