According to the weather department, Delhi will be severely cold for the next two days. IMD has issued a yellow alert for two days. Along with the fall in temperature, cold wave will also prevail during this period. On Wednesday also, the minimum temperature of Delhi had fallen to 4 degrees.
However, after this, the temperature may improve from 14 to 17 December and the minimum mercury may remain between 5 to 6 degrees. Meanwhile, light fog may also cover.
Cold is wreaking havoc in many districts of Rajasthan as well. Churu and Sikar even broke the record of Mount Abu. The minimum temperature in Sikar was recorded at 1.5 degrees. At the same time, 1.8 degrees was recorded in Churu. The maximum temperature in Mount Abu was recorded at 16 degrees and the minimum at 3 degrees.
According to the Meteorological Department, due to the fall in temperature and frost, crops are also likely to be damaged.
All schools in 11 districts will remain closed in Tamil Nadu due to the possibility of heavy rain today. Holiday has been declared in schools in Chennai, Villupuram, Thanjavur, Mayiladuthurai, Pudukkottai, Cuddalore, Dindigul, Ramanathapuram, Tiruvarur, Ranipet and Tiruvallur districts.
Meanwhile, it rained in some parts of Thoothukudi this morning. The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in many districts of Tamil Nadu.
The mercury is also seen falling continuously in Himachal. The minimum temperature of 12 places including Una and Sundarnagar has gone into minus. There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall at some places in the higher areas of Lahaul-Spiti, Chamba, Kullu, Kinnaur and Kangra.
