The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLU) has released the third merit list for CLAT 2026 today. Candidates who participated in the counselling process can now view the third-round allotment results on the official website,
Students whose names appear in the third merit list have been allotted seats in various National Law Universities. They must select one of three options — Freeze, Float, or Exit — by February 12, 2026, 1:00 PM IST.
The CLAT 2026 examination was conducted on December 7, 2025. All candidates included in any merit list are required to confirm their preferences within the specified deadlines to secure admission.

Understanding the Options
- Freeze: Candidates satisfied with their allotted NLU can lock the seat permanently and will not participate in further rounds.
- Float: Candidates can accept the current seat while remaining eligible for a higher-preference NLU in subsequent rounds.
- Exit: Candidates can withdraw from the CLAT 2026 counselling process entirely.
Candidates are advised to log in to the official portal and complete their choice promptly to avoid losing their allotted seat.
