BJP may release first list of candidates for all 182 seats in Gujarat today .In the marathon meeting of BJP Central Election Committee chaired by BJP National President JP Nadda and in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, all 182 seats of Gujarat Legislative Assembly were discussed. According to sources, the BJP can release its first list of candidates for the Gujarat Legislative Assembly elections on Thursday.
After several stalwarts including former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and former Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel opted not to contest on their own, it is believed that the BJP’s list may be full of young leaders this time as compared to the last assembly elections.
According to sources, in the marathon meeting held on Wednesday, it has been decided to cut the tickets of many other veteran and elderly leaders and bet on young faces.
Apart from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP National Organization General Secretary BL Santosh, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Gujarat BJP State President CR Patil, Union Minister Parshottam Rupala, Bhupendra Yadav, BS Yediyurappa, Sabarnand Sonowal, Sudha Yadav, Bhupendra Yadav, Devendra Fadnavis, Om Mathur and other members of the Central Election Committee and Gujarat BJP Core Committee were also present in the meeting.
After the meeting of the Central Election Committee, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also held a separate meeting with the Chief Minister of Gujarat and the Gujarat BJP State President.
According to sources, the BJP is likely to announce the names of around 100 candidates, including the candidates to be held for 89 assembly seats in the state on December 1, under the first phase, on Thursday.
Let us tell you that Gujarat will go to polls in two phases on December 1 and December 5. Polling is to be held on 89 assembly seats in the state on December 1 and 93 on December 5. The last date for nominations for 89 assembly constituencies in the first phase of elections in the state is November 14 and November 17 is the last date for nominations for the 93 assembly seats to be held in the second phase on December 5.
