Israel is reportedly preparing for the possibility of a sudden missile and drone strike by Iran as diplomatic efforts between Tehran and the United States continue behind closed doors over a potential ceasefire arrangement.

According to a report published by The Jerusalem Post, Israeli intelligence officials have warned that Iran could launch rapid military action targeting Israel and Gulf nations if ongoing negotiations with Washington collapse.

The report said Israeli defense authorities believe Tehran may attempt a preemptive strike before diplomatic channels fully break down, raising concerns across the region.

In response to the reported threat, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz and senior military commanders held high-level security assessments to review operational preparedness and regional defense coordination.

Security officials reportedly compared the potential scenario to the opening stages of previous military operations referred to as “Operation Epic Fury” and “Operation Roaring Lion,” suggesting concerns over coordinated missile and drone attacks.

The developments come as reports continue to emerge about possible differences between US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding strategy toward Iran, although both governments remain closely aligned on military preparedness.

Israeli and American military officials are reportedly maintaining intensive coordination through intelligence-sharing mechanisms designed to monitor suspected Iranian military activity across the region.

According to the reports, senior Israeli military leadership, including Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, remains in constant contact with US defense officials to ensure a coordinated response in the event of escalation.

Military cooperation between Washington and Jerusalem has also intensified significantly over the past month, with increased deliveries of defense equipment and expanded collaboration on missile interception systems and surveillance technology.

A separate report by Israeli outlet Walla stated that defense agencies have conducted extensive reviews aimed at improving early threat detection and the ability to intercept hostile missiles and drones before impact.

President Trump has meanwhile reiterated his administration’s position on Iran’s nuclear program, saying the United States would not allow Tehran to develop nuclear weapons capability.

Speaking to reporters, Trump said Washington intends to neutralize Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium, which Western intelligence assessments have long viewed as a central concern in regional security discussions.

Israel has consistently opposed Iran’s nuclear activities, arguing that Tehran’s nuclear ambitions represent a direct strategic threat to Israeli national security.

The rapidly evolving situation continues to draw global attention as fears grow that any military escalation could destabilize the wider Middle East, disrupt energy markets, and deepen geopolitical uncertainty worldwide.
