New Delhi, India — March 2, 2026: Weather conditions across North India on Monday show a dynamic transition from cool winter-like mornings to warmer afternoons, with localized variations in cloud cover, rain possibilities and temperature trends.
In Uttar Pradesh, mornings and nights remain mildly cool, while daytime temperatures rise under clear skies. Several districts are recording maximum temperatures slightly above average, though parts of western UP may experience cloud build-up and light drizzles due to a weak western disturbance.
In Delhi, the weather remains mostly dry. Residents are feeling cool in the early hours and mild warmth in the afternoon. Air quality levels are fluctuating, with occasional moderate pollution levels reported.
Haryana and Punjab are experiencing similar conditions—chilly mornings followed by comfortable daytime temperatures and generally clear skies. However, intermittent cloud cover is possible in some western pockets as the western disturbance drifts eastward.
Across Rajasthan, dry weather continues. Daytime heat is more pronounced in the western districts, while nights bring a noticeable temperature drop.
In the Himalayan states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, winter conditions persist in the mountains. Higher elevations may see renewed snowfall, while lower valleys could experience light rain or cloudy conditions. Tourist hubs are reporting cold winds and significant chill during mornings and evenings.
The Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh regions remain cold. The Kashmir Valley is recording low minimum temperatures and lingering snow at higher altitudes. In Ladakh, frigid winds continue, though daytime sunshine provides brief relief.
In eastern plains, Bihar is gradually warming. After chilly mornings, daytime temperatures climb, and light fog has been observed in several riverine areas.
Overall, North India is in a transitional weather phase with warming daytime conditions and cool nights across plains, while hilly regions continue to experience winter weather. According to the Meteorological Department, gradual temperature increases are expected in the coming days, though cloud cover and light rain cannot be ruled out if the western disturbance strengthens.
