Sensex and Nifty Open Higher in Monday Trading

MUMBAI, Feb. 23

Indian equity benchmarks opened higher on Monday, extending gains from the previous session as investor sentiment remained positive at the start of the trading week.

The 30-share BSE Sensex climbed 276.69 points, or 0.33%, to 83,091.40 in early trade. Meanwhile, the 50-share NSE Nifty 50 advanced 72.30 points, or 0.28%, to 25,643.55 during initial market hours.

Previous Session Performance

On Friday, the Sensex had surged 316.57 points to close at 82,814.71, while the Nifty gained 116.90 points to settle at 25,571.25, reflecting strong buying interest across sectors.

Market Momentum Continues

Monday’s positive opening signals sustained investor confidence, with both benchmark indices trading in the green during early deals. Market participants are closely monitoring domestic and global cues for further direction as the trading session progresses.

Analysts note that continued inflows and sectoral strength could help indices maintain upward momentum, though volatility may persist amid broader global market trends.
